Munich is really great, this city has so many good things, the people are really friendly and helpful, so many history building, museums, also castles, and many sighseeing places, i was in berlin before i went to munich, but i like munich more, this city is really amazing :D
Munich is a wonderful city to visit and is easy to get around by public transport or walking. We did two organized walking tours, otherwise we did self guided tours.
Munich is a great city and provides a lot of hospitality. Visit the Vikzalienmarket with it's local market stands and drink a cool beer under the walnut trees.
In the evening you can visit a concert for free in the church just nearby or visit the busy Hofbräuhaus. The Lenbachhachhaus provides a nice collection of new art and the Old Pinakotek serves your eyes with the finest pieces of Dutch paintings. Another nice beer garden is located near the central station and called Augustinerkeller and always worth a visit. Munich is also famous for castles as Nymphenburg or Oberschleißheim. Important to visit is also the concentration camp Dachau to get in touch with the cruel history of the Nazi regime. All in all, Munich is a great place to visit.
Nice place with great culture. No shopping on Sunday as all shops are closed but not sure why there were still so many people along the shopping districts.
Good time to go sight see and play sports on sunday. Weather was nice, food is relatively cheap and good too.
I love Munich a lot. The food, the sightseeing, and the atmosphere I would definitely come back again!
Munich is one of the main city for Germany at south. Historical buildings are every where and the train system is very convenient which you can travel around nearby cities conveniently.
We were in the city just overnight, as in our plan we had to go to the next city. So we saw almost nothing around the city.
There was one good Greek restaurant near Circus Clone near the central station.
Munich is a great place once you are out of the vicinity of the Hauptbahnhof. The main station is good but it is littered with people drinking.
Though they are not troublesome, it is intimidating to see a lot of men with bottles in their hands. It is not a very good introduction to visitors although we are aware that it is the land of Oktoberfest! But do not let this stop you from enjoying Munich. I found the city to be a shopping mecca. So bring lots of Euros. I love this place for shopping. Next time I go to Europe, I will go straight to Munich and shop as I will not be packing much from home. Then i will continue on with my European tour from Munich. The train fares are also excellent. The best in Europe in fact. The people are lovely. Even though you don't speak German, you will get by. Food is dirt cheap. There's lots of tours available and they are not expensive at all. The trams are also great. Munich is so accessible. Love this place
Munich was mentioned for the first time in documents in 1158. it has developed into a diverse, exciting, historic and modern city.
We enjoyed our time there. The metro is a reliable and efficient service, there is a never ending supply of exciting, interesting, quirky and beautiful things to discover. we would return to Munich and stay at the same hotel.
There are a lot of places to visit in Munich. But one of the must see is the Schloss Neuschwanstein and Schloss Hohenschwangau.
It's best to get there very early so that you can visit that 2 castle as well as the Bavaria Museum. We missed the museum because we arrive close to noon time and only managed to visit the 2 castles. The guided tour given was great, you can also talk to the tour guide to find out more about King Ludwig's history. Oh, and not to forget about the bridge, Marienbrücke, where you can get the best view of Schloss Neuschwanstein. Definitely worth a visit!
There is always something to do in Munich. Try to get away from the typical tourist traps and get to know the city like the locals.
Spend an afternoon in the English gardens or take a day trip to Füssen for some beautiful walks through the countryside.
Its my first visit to Munich. The city is one of the most beautiful in the world. People are friendly and well dressed.
Clubs bars and restaurants are of the highest quality. Places of interests are excellent and very scenic.
A beautiful and modern city. Fast and disciplined life, Excellent transport system. I would love to visit Munich again.
Small city which you can cover the town area within the day. Easy to get about the city on foot. You will probably use this as a central stop for day trips out of the city
We enjoyed mëunchen very much. Marienplatz was fun for walking and shopping. The German museum was good to spend time during a rainy day but a bit overpriced.
The food was fantastic each time we went out to eat. At least one visit to a beer garden is recommended.
it's just like any city. i like the airport. within it, you can find everything you need. lots of places to see and restos and shopping to do.
very impressive olympic arena and bmw museum.
Very disciplined, very prompt and very proud of their culture. I appreciated that. I just hope there will be English translations everywhere.
smokes everywhere, a lot or smokers, when there is smokes in the chilled air it really chokes when you breath it in, and easily makes your nose and throat feel uncomfortable.
(I'm not a sensitive person nor a weak one, but the smokes really made me headache for the whole day) it's better to stay out of the city, go to the mountain or castles!
Great place to visit with great art galleries and museums. Train trip will take you other beautiful places too.
They have an excellent transport system with the Ubahn, trams and buses. Very easy to use and excellent value for money.
Shopping is superb with wide precincts and a range of shops with many well known international names. The ancient buildings have been restored and look magnificent, opulent and colourful. It was very much Hansel and Gretel land, pretty buildings, lots of flowers and spotlessly clean. Food is quite limited to wurst and schnitzel. Had difficulty getting hot vegetables with our meals.
Really liked the city but the underground at the central station was a nightmare with lack of signage for destinations and nowhere/one to ask
If you are coming to Munich, choose on Monday to Saturday to enjoy the life of this place cause on Sunday, most shop out of the city will not be open and you might have issue finding the right restaurant.
Most shop at Marienplazt will still be open until late evening. If you go to Augustiner restaurant they have a good selection of good food except friendly staff, they are not friendly to Asian and always demand for tip and if you don't have cash with you, get ready for their humiliation. Haxnbauer restaurant which is also near to Marienplazt offer a good varieties of pork knuckle. If you like Indian food Maharani Indisches Restaurant at Rottmannstreet is a good choice but it is quite a distance if you walk from Stigmaierplazt station.
Great City, public transportation was good, great places to eat, reasonable price & lots to see and do
Very westernized, feels like I was in USA, so it feels home to me. People were very helpful in general and us tourists appreciates that very much.
Was able to communicate with almost everyone speaks English. Food was good and hearty - no room to starve!
Out of our 5 week European travels and visiting over 20 different cities and towns, Munich was the worst.
It was dirty, busy, people spitting on the street, beggers everywhere, lots of traffic. People were just rude (on trains, in shops etc) people just pushed past you if you were in their way (we also expereineced this a bit in Switzerland too, but not as bad) I didnt see much beauty in the city at all (admittedly we didnt go sightseeing much due to time constraints, so I am sure there are some nice places to visit, maybe out of the city a bit?) All in all Munich is just a big city with lots of concrete, high buildings and no charm.
Marienplatz is considered to be the heart of Munich, so it's a must you visit it. Also, Neuschwanstein Castle in Fussen, two hours away from Munich, is a must-see!
I love Munich, the culture, the shopping and the lifestyle. I will encourage everyone to visit Munich.
The 2 person all-inclusive transportation ticket was a bargain and could be used on all transit - U Bahn, trams and busses.
Lots of sights to see - taxi unnecessary.
I believe Munich is the greatest and modern city inside Germany. You must visit Munich if you will travel to Germany.
It is a city full of art, history, museums and food. Of course, you can also relax there by visiting the parks such as Olympic Park. All in all, I would choose Munich instead of Berlin if you can visit only one city in Germany.
we visited Marienplatz , Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castle by taking the train to fussen. also a short dinner at Lowenbraukeller for its local food ( gigantic portions) .
