Kata Beach Resort & Spa, Phuket

We were a group of six ranging from 18 to 50 years. In general we all enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Breakfast, included in our package, was good with a choice to suite different taste. Pool area was crowded as this was during peak season, but we were nevertheless able to find sun chairs - the same was the case on the beach. We ate lunch/dinner at the hotel a few times. But you get better value for money finding a restaurant outside the hotel. We went to some place by just walking along the beach. Our flight left late evening, upon asking in the reception we extended the stay for one room until early evening by paying a reasonable sum. Very convenient after spending a day on the beach. The traffic in Kata is not suitable for elderly people or young kids, hardly any side walks and lots of motor bikes/cars. Conclusion : would have no problem staying there again.

we were there with 4 adults and 2 kids (4+7) and enjoyed every day. we were checking almost any hotel in phuket by reading reviews and it payed out. location is great as there are not many hotels right on the beach and I find it very important with the kids. we were till afternoon at the pool and only around 3pm went down (10 stairs) to the sand as it was simply too hot before. massage is on the beach right below the hotel, also 2 snackbars, watersport (jetski/ waterski, banana etc for 1500 bath 30/15min. the sea is usually flat, only at the afternoon some nice waves here and there. my boys enjoyed them very much. bring your boogyboard as they rent them for 100 bath/1h and i didn't find any to buy. There are plenty of restaurants in a 2-3min walking distance, lots of stashes which sell the usual thailand stuff and plenty of massage places which are usually much better then the ones on the beach. finding a good place for breakfast was kinda hard though, so we gave up and bought at 7eleven some braed for the kids and came along with nice lunch at the hotel poolbar and dinner somewhere outside. excellent italian just 1 min away across the street but forgot the name (beside a steakhouse- walk out, cross the street, left then right). beats our local pizzeria and makes his own very good pasta. seafood also excellent there but dont take seafood in the other restaurants as they seem to just throw it on the grill without any spices - really not worth to try even. we had pretty much all kind of people in the hotel, from families to groups and singles. it is definatly NOT a party place but you can rent scooters 200bath/day to get anywhere or car 1300Bath or taxi of course. to get there from phuket airport take a regular taxi before you get out at one of their stands for 750 bath (toyota Camry) or min
